With very different character lines and events, the film doesn’t even seem to have been created with the novel in mind. If you have read the book, you would probably agree with me that the story was cheated by the movie. Released on Netflix in 2019, this holiday romance and drama is an adaptation of John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Miracle’s 2008 novel Let It Snow. Come along and find the next movie to add to your holiday watchlist! 29, we’ll be sharing a holiday movie that makes us laugh, cry, and do everything in between. Thoughts down below! ‘Let it Snow’ is the Kind of Fun You'll Enjoy: Novel vs Movie.Welcome to day two of The Gateway’s 12 Days of Holiday Movies! Every weekday from Dec. Versa) better? What do you think of these Netflix adaptations? Comment all the Plus, I’m still miffed that Jubilee and Stuart’s story is so freaking altered.ĭo you like better have you read and/or seen both? Tell me why or why not you (Weird I know, especially since I did skim portions while reading.) I think it captures the character’s better (as it should) and blends that quirky cuteness with seasonal vibes quite well. I think, as we stand right now, I’m going to give the “better” badge to the book. I think, overall, the film is adorable, and Netflix continues to produce solid movies that are crowd-pleasers. I’m not sure which I’d give the slight edge to. In Conclusion: Let it Snow Novel vs Movie You can see the film, exclusively, on Netflix. The only drawback? You just have to choose which one you most root for. Of course, there’s also plenty of sweet romance to be swept up in.Also, what’s with the bittersweet part of Jubliee’s (actually just Julie in the film) vignette!?.To be honest, I think I like John Green’s story best in the film which follows Tobin and The Duke, although JP doesn’t have the same kind of role as in the novella, somehow it still works without feeling “too different” and the romance? AWWW! It might be the cutest. The acting is quite good, and it’s always fun to meet new actors. There is still a lot to compliment about the adaptation though.Like, aside from the names, this one just feels “wrong” different. I think Tobin’s is the least affected, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t most disappointed in the change in Jubilee’s (which you may recall is my favorite). There are so many differences to all of the stories.Ok, because it’s always easier to get some cons out of the way: WHAT IS WITH ALL OF THE CHANGES?.You can find the novel, Let it Snow on Amazon! Thoughts on the Film Thank you to anyone who makes a purchase through these links. (Disclosure: this post does contain affiliate links if you buy anything through these links, I may receive a small percentage of the sale at no extra cost to you. All things that should be a thing in seasonal fiction. I absolutely adored Jubilee and Stuart’s story it’s fun and quirky and Christmas-y.Despite skipping through Green’s, I did find his story amusing. The stories are fun on a surface level, but I have to admit, I skimmed through John Green’s, and by the time I got to Lauren Myracle’s, I’ll admit to being a little bored (although it is a pretty cute tale), in all likelihood this is because I wanted to like this collection so much.In a nutshell, this is what this collection is about, although the stories do somewhat connect in small ways. Finally, Lauren Myracle’s is about a neurotic girl so worried about her ex-boyfriend, she almost loses her best friend who is obsessed with a teacup pig. John Green’s is about a trio of best friends – JP, the Duke and Tobin, who discover their close knit friendship may also have an unspoken love story waiting to break free. Maureen’s story follows a girl named Jubilee who, after the arrest of her parents is stranded in the town while on her way to relatives. Each button encrypts and transmits the screen data without any interaction with the notebook – and only to one receiver – ensuring that your presentation stays in the meeting room. The InstaShow is built for security from its core. If you are looking for a secure commercial-grade wireless HDMI solution for a business or school, the InstaShow is a better alternative. If you want to connect an old Windows laptop at home to present on your Apple TV, use AirParrot. Because each button encrypts the information – and doesn’t require network access – they are ideal for IT managers looking for more security and limit exposure to hackers using wireless presentation systems to gain unauthorized access to the network. They make it easy to use in seconds – without the hassle of installing software or buying licenses for each user. This means you are limited to the performance of the connected device (e.g., Chromecast), and you are required to purchase a license for each notebook or phone that you want to connect to the display. The BenQ InstaShow products are purpose-built wireless HDMI streaming products designed for collaboration environments. You can’t use it on its own to mirror a screen. AirParrot must have a third party streaming device to work – such as an Apple TV or Chromecast. Because it uses the true HDMI output, the InstaShow can also work with media players such as Blu-Ray, as well as native HDMI output from cameras and engineering devices.ĪirParrot 2 by Squirrels and BenQ InstaShow are completely different wireless screen mirroring platforms that address different needs.ĪirParrot 2 is an inexpensive software that lets you connect typically incompatible devices, such as a Windows laptop and Apple TV. Unlike the AirParrot app, the InstaShow can work without loading any new application onto the device – making it ideal for companies and classrooms in higher security environments – or hosting visitors with “locked down” computers who cannot load apps onto their systems. Both systems can work effectively on Chromebooks, Windows, and Mac devices – as well as popular iOS and Android mobile systems. The AirParrot does not appear to encrypt any content, which could have a higher risk of your content being compromised. InstaShow encrypts every transmission with 128-bit encryption using the latest security technology. For budget meetings, HR reviews, product technology roadmaps, and even classroom grades, keeping your wireless content secure is essential. One big advantage over a screen mirroring app is the encryption of content. Using a simple transmitter button, the InstaShow enables any employee or visitor to connect any HDMI device – and wirelessly screen the information with a single tap in seconds. The InstaShow was designed from the beginning as a wireless HDMI device to facilitate collaboration in a meeting room or huddle space. This is one reason for the price difference of the products. The first difference you notice with an AirParrot 2 and the InstaShow is that the AirParrot software requires you to purchase additional hardware to connect to a display.īy contrast, the InstaShow platform doesn’t require the purchase of any extra hardware or software. Over the past few decades, medical scribes have been remedying this situation by taking over the responsibility of documentation. These undesirable effects of EHR systems have led to a significant increase in physician burnout over the past several years. This results in fewer patients treated per shift, more time spent at the office, and unsigned charts piling up over several days. For this reason, many physicians tend to stop seeing patients an hour or more before their shift is over, but still end up staying late to finish charts. This means that they only get to spend about one-third of their workday actually providing healthcare, while the rest is lost to documentation and other clerical duties. Some studies report that, on average, for every 1 hour a physician spends with patients, they must spend 2 hours charting those encounters in the EHR. EHRs require thorough documentation and contain dozens of checkboxes to click and unclick to ensure accuracy for insurance and billing purposes – one mistake could have many repercussions. The transition from paper charts to Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems has made it possible for doctors to deliver cohesive and quality healthcare, but it has also created a huge burden. Scribes who work remotely are often called virtual medical scribe, telescribe, virtual scribe or remote medical scribe. More generic names for a medical scribe include doctor scribe, physician scribe, clinical scribe or healthcare scribe. There are scribe positions that can vary depending on medical specialty (e.g., ophthalmology scribe, dermatology scribe). Scribing in a hospital is common and there are many titles including: A medical scribe goes by many names and the title given to a scribe varies depending on whether the position is located in a hospital, clinic or office. Regardless of setting, a scribe’s job is to document the conversation between a doctor and patient in an electronic medical record. The position varies depending on clinical setting, medical specialty, technology used, provider and workflow. What is a medical scribe? This article covers what the roles and duties of a scribe are, basics of why medical scribing is effectively changing healthcare, and who might be interested in becoming a hospital scribe. Medical scribing was introduced in the mid-1990s, but it is still considered a relatively new idea and many people are not familiar with the concept. Scribes work for providers at hospitals, outpatient clinics, and medical offices to improve physician productivity and healthcare efficiency. This allows doctors to spend more time face-to-face with patients and provide personalized care without getting caught up in charts. A medical scribe is someone who is trained to document physician-patient encounters quickly and accurately so that doctors do not have to. |
